Warehouses

A warehouse is a place where stock is kept. Every warehouse belongs to one branch, and Fiscal keeps the stock of every item per warehouse.

Open Settings›Warehouse.

Add a warehouse

  1. Click New.
  2. Choose the branch the warehouse belongs to.
  3. Enter a Warehouse Code, the Warehouse Name, for example Riyadh Main Store, and the Location Address.
  4. Set the switches (see below) and click Save.

Users only see the warehouses they have access to. Give them access after you add a warehouse: see Branch and warehouse access.

Switches

SwitchWhat it does
ActiveTurn it off for a warehouse you no longer use. It stays in old documents and reports but can't be chosen on new ones.
VirtualMarks a warehouse that isn't a real building, for example the stock on a van or goods in transit. A virtual warehouse can only be merged with another virtual warehouse.
Packing warehouse (can receive unpacked stock)Items that still need packing can be transferred here before they are packed. Other warehouses only accept packed stock.

Merge two warehouses

Use this when two warehouses are really the same place, for example after a duplicate was created by mistake.

  1. Select the warehouse that should disappear and click Merge into….
  2. Choose the warehouse to keep. Both must be in the same branch.
  3. Fiscal shows how many rows will move (stock, documents and user access). Tick I understand that this merge cannot be undone and confirm.

All stock, documents and user access move to the warehouse you keep. The merged warehouse is then deleted, or made inactive if you don't have the Delete right for warehouses.

Move a warehouse to another branch

A warehouse's branch can't be changed on its form, because its documents belong to that branch too. To move it:

  1. Select the warehouse and click Move to branch….
  2. Choose the new branch. Fiscal shows how many document and journal rows will move.
  3. Confirm.

The warehouse moves together with every document that used it (invoices, delivery notes, receipts, bills, returns, adjustments, transfers and so on) and their journal entries. Stock quantities, batches and costs don't change. Documents without a warehouse, such as orders and payments, stay in their branch.

Merging and moving change many past documents and can't be undone. Do it when nobody else is working in Fiscal, and not for dates where the books are closed.
