Month-end checklist

  1. All sales, purchases, expenses and payments for the month are entered.
  2. Reconcile every bank account.
  3. Run Running depreciation, and post accruals with Journal entries.
  4. Check that Goods Received Not Invoiced and Undeposited Funds only hold what they should.
  5. Run the Trial Balance, Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet.
  6. After the VAT return, close the books.

To look up one account quickly, the Ledger Center is often faster than a report (see The Ledger Center).
