Employees and projects
Employees are the people you name on documents, such as the salesman on an invoice or the driver of a van. Projects let you follow the income and costs of a job or contract.
Employees
Open Settings›Employee and click New.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name, Code | The employee's name and an optional short code. |
| Email, Phone | Contact details. |
| Employee Type | Salesman: can be chosen as the salesman on customers and sales documents, and appears in the sales reports by salesman. Driver: drives a van in van sales. Kitchen Staff: works on the kitchen screens. Normal: any other employee. |
| Active | Turn it off when the person leaves. Their past documents keep their name. |
| Note | Anything else you want to record. |
An employee is not a user. To let someone sign in to Fiscal, add them as a user as well (see Users).
A customer can have a default salesman, who is then filled in on that customer's estimates, orders, delivery notes, invoices and credit notes. You can change the salesman on each document.
If your plan includes HR and payroll, each employee also has an HR file with their job, documents and salary (see Employee HR files).
Projects
Open Settings›Project and click New.
- Enter the Project Name and an optional Code.
- Choose the Client the project is for, if there is one.
- Enter the Start Date, End Date and a Note if you like, and save.
You can then pick the project on journal entries and estimates, and filter the trial balance and the financial reports by project. Turn off Active when the project is finished.
