Point of sale: overview

Fiscal's point of sale (POS) is a touch screen for counters, tables and deliveries. Every settled order becomes a cash invoice in Fiscal, with its stock and accounting, so the POS and the books always agree.

Point of Sale is part of some subscription plans. If you don't see Point of Sale in the side menu, contact Exler IT Hub to add it.

What it does

  • Quick Service at the counter, Table Service with dining areas and tables, and Delivery with a status board.
  • Menu items sold by portion (Small, Medium, Large) with recipes, modifiers (oat milk, extra shot) and combos.
  • Split payments across cash, card and wallets, tips, preset discounts, voids and returns with manager PIN approval.
  • Shifts with an opening float, cash in and out, and X and Z reports.
  • Receipts, kitchen tickets and the cash drawer through a small Print Agent program on a PC in each branch.

What a settled order posts

When an order is paid, Fiscal creates, in one go:

  • a cash invoice in the terminal's own number series, with VAT (and its ZATCA QR code in Saudi Arabia);
  • the stock out: stock items themselves, and menu items through their recipe ingredients;
  • the journal, with one debit per payment type to its account;
  • the payments.

So POS sales appear in the normal invoices, sales reports, stock and VAT reports, and the POS reports add the restaurant views.

Setting it up, in order

  1. POS setup: POS settings, POS groups, modifier groups, payment types, discounts and reasons.
  2. Menu items, combos and screen menus: menu items and combos, and the screen menus that show them.
  3. POS printing: the Print Agent, printers, kitchen stations and routing.
  4. Dining areas and tables: dining areas and tables, for table service.
  5. Terminals, staff and pairing: terminals, POS staff and their PINs, and pairing the devices.

Then staff can start selling.
