Units
Units are what you count items in: piece, carton, kilogram, litre, hour. An item has one base unit and can have more units for buying and selling.
Open Settings›Inventory›Unit, click New, enter a short Code (for example PCS) and the Unit Name (Piece), and save.
Base unit and other units
Every item has a base unit, the smallest unit you count it in. Stock is always stored in the base unit. Other units are a number of base units, called the pack:
| Unit | Pack (in base units) | Sell price |
|---|---|---|
| Piece (base unit) | 1 | 2.00 |
| Box | 12 | 22.00 |
| Carton | 48 | 84.00 |
Selling 2 cartons takes 96 pieces out of stock. Each unit can have its own price and barcode. Set this up on the item's Units tab: see Items › Units.
Choose the base unit carefully. Once an item has stock movements, changing its base unit would change the meaning of every quantity already recorded.
