Payment modes
A payment mode is a way of paying or being paid, such as cash, card, bank transfer or cheque. Every payment records its mode, so you can see how the money came in or went out.
Open Settings›Payment Mode.
Add a payment mode
- Click New.
- Enter the Mode Name, for example Mada card or Bank transfer – Al Rajhi.
- Choose the Default Account (required): the cash or bank account this mode normally uses.
- Make sure Active is on, and click Save.
On a payment you choose both the payment mode and the account: Deposit To for money you receive, or the account you pay from. Choose the same account as the mode's default account unless the money really went somewhere else.
Examples
| Mode | Default account |
|---|---|
| Cash | Cash on hand (one per branch, if each branch has its own cash box) |
| Card | The bank account your card payments are settled into |
| Bank transfer | The bank account |
| Cheque | Undeposited Funds, until the cheque is deposited |
Stop using a mode
Turn off Active and save. The mode is marked Inactive in the list, and older payments keep it. Use Delete only for a mode that was never used.
